Use for a single quick task — short rewrite, one-line answer, small social post, simple naming or formatting, one-off question — when no project state needs to be loaded.

Janus Tier 1 — Quick Task

IWhen To Use

  • Single, low-weight task.
  • No prior project state required.
  • No file changes spanning more than one file.

IIWhat To Load

  • This SKILL.md only.
  • Optional: templates/TASK_BRIEF.md if the user wants a brief.

Do not load harness references, mode sub-skills, or templates unless directly needed.

IIIWorkflow

  1. Restate the task in one line.
  2. Produce the answer or smallest change.
  3. Return it.

IVOutput

For content: return finished copy-paste-ready output first. For analysis: return conclusion first, then one-line reason. For a snippet edit: return the snippet only.

No preamble. No restating context. No trailing summary.

VEscalate When

  • Task touches more than one file → Tier 2.
  • Task requires project history, deploy, or verification → Tier 2 or Tier 3.
  • Task is a 40K rules question → switch to $janus-judge-mode.
